The Al Dhafra Region Municipality has implemented a lamppost replacement project on Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed International Highway to Al Ruwais Bypass Road.
The project, which installed environmentally-friendly LED lampposts is one of the municipality’s main projects and will help facilitate electricity rationalisation.
The project involved replacing 2,035 lampposts with 5,581 LED lamps and coordinate the street lighting on Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed International Road, upgrade the infrastructure of the Al Dhafra Region, improve traffic safety, and achieve environmental sustainability.
The project is expected to cut annual electricity bills by 50 percent to around AED1,824,000.
